TL;DR

Claude pricing plans in 2026 range from 0 to 200 USD per person per month, excluding tax. Pro costs 20 USD (17 USD on annual billing), Max 100 or 200 USD, Team 20 to 125 USD per seat. Enterprise costs 20 USD per seat plus usage at API rates. For company data we recommend Team as the minimum.

How much does each Claude plan cost?

As of 19 September 2026, claude.com/pricing lists seven price points: Free at 0 USD, Pro at 20 USD, Max 5x at 100 USD, Max 20x at 200 USD, Team Standard from 20 USD, Team Premium from 100 USD and Enterprise at 20 USD per seat plus consumption. Every price excludes tax.

We loaded the page from a German IP, and the English, German and French versions all showed US dollars with the note “Prices shown don’t include applicable tax.” The Pro help article adds that pricing appears “in your local currency where supported” and that some regions include tax in the displayed price while others add it at checkout. We could not verify an official euro price on a public page.

Plan Monthly Annual (per month) Usage People
Free 0 USD 0 USD baseline 1
Pro 20 USD 17 USD (200 USD up front) at least 5x Free per 5-hour session 1

Enterprise not offered 20 USD per seat plus API usage pay per use 20 seats minimum (self-serve), 50 via sales

The pricing page only says “From $100” for Max; the 200 USD figure for Max 20x comes from the Max help article. The seat multipliers come from the Team help article.

What does each plan include?

Pro is the first plan with Claude Code, Opus and no five-project cap. Max adds only capacity and priority at peak times. Team adds SSO, central billing and no model training on your content by default. Only Enterprise brings SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API and custom data retention. If you want Cowork without seats on an EU cloud endpoint, read our Claude Cowork enterprise guide.

Every plan meters usage in a rolling 5-hour window, and paid plans add weekly limits. There is no fixed message count. When you hit the limit on a paid plan, you can buy usage credits at standard API rates.

Feature Free Pro / Max Team Enterprise
Claude Code no yes yes yes
Opus no yes yes yes
Fable no Pro: credits only, Max: 50% of weekly limit 50% of weekly limit on premium seats yes

The training row matters most for GDPR. Free, Pro and Max are consumer products. If a user allows training, the Anthropic Privacy Center says de-identified data may be kept for up to 5 years; otherwise deleted chats leave the back end within 30 days. For the contract side, see our Claude GDPR comparison across providers.

What does Claude cost via the API, Bedrock and Google Cloud?

Through the API you pay per million tokens, not per seat. Sonnet 5 costs 2 USD input and 10 USD output; Opus 5 costs 5 and 25 USD. EU data residency on Bedrock or Google Cloud adds 10%. Enterprise usage is billed at the same Anthropic API rates.

Model (USD per 1M tokens, input/output) Claude API Bedrock EU geo Google Cloud EU multi-region
Claude Fable 5.1 10 / 50 not available 11 / 55
Claude Opus 5 5 / 25 5.50 / 27.50 5.50 / 27.50
Claude Sonnet 5 2 / 10 2.20 / 11 2.20 / 11
Claude Haiku 4.5 1 / 5 1.10 / 5.50 1.10 / 5.50

Which Claude plan fits which company?

Solo consultants without client data can live with Pro. From two people handling company data, we recommend Team, because only business plans skip training by default and include SSO. Enterprise pays off once SCIM, audit logs or custom deletion periods are mandatory. If you build Claude into your own software, use the API on Bedrock or Google Cloud; our Amazon Bedrock guide explains the AWS side. Our Claude Enterprise vs Bedrock comparison weighs the top plan against the cloud route.

Situation Recommendation Why
Individual, private or public content Pro 20 USD, Claude Code included
Developer on Claude Code all day Max 5x or Team Premium capacity; Team Premium under a business contract
SME, 2 to 150 people, company data Team Standard plus a few Premium seats SSO, no training, seats can be mixed
Auditors require audit logs and SCIM Enterprise only plan that has them
More than 150 people Enterprise Team caps at 150
EU data residency for your own apps API via Bedrock EU or Google EU region control, 10% premium

Our position: putting company data into personal Pro or Max accounts is a governance mistake, even with training switched off. There is no central admin, no SSO, and the account belongs to the employee, not the company. If you are still choosing between assistants, read our Claude vs ChatGPT comparison for European companies.

Cost example: what does Claude cost for a 20-person team?

Twenty Team Standard seats on annual billing cost 400 USD per month, or 4,800 USD per year before tax. Monthly billing raises that to 6,000 USD. Swapping five seats to Premium for developers brings the total to 9,600 USD per year.

Scenario Calculation Per month Per year
Team, 20 Standard, annual 20 x 20 USD 400 USD 4,800 USD
Team, 20 Standard, monthly 20 x 25 USD 500 USD 6,000 USD
Team, 15 Standard + 5 Premium, annual 15 x 20 + 5 x 100 USD 800 USD 9,600 USD
Enterprise, 20 seats + assumed usage 400 USD + 240 USD 640 USD 7,680 USD

The Enterprise row is a model, not a quote. We assumed 3M input and 0.6M output tokens per person per month on Sonnet 5: 60M input tokens (120 USD) plus 12M output tokens (120 USD). Self-serve Enterprise buys usage up front as credits, billed in USD only, per the Enterprise billing article.
